Happy Canada Day

On July 1, 1867, Canada became a self-governing dominion of Great Britain and a federation of four provinces: Nova Scotia; New Brunswick; Ontario; and Quebec. The anniversary of this date was called Dominion Day until 1982. Since 1983, July 1 has been officially known as Canada Day. We have a lot to be proud of living in this country. We have great opportunities and Canadians look after each other in so many ways. We, of course have a great reputation for great beer! I am mean really, how can you go wrong in a country where the passion is Hockey and Beer. We even named a beer after ourselves… Molson Canadian!

We need to continue to protect what we have and what so many have fought for over the years. Our health care system is one of the worlds greatest achievments yet the attacks from the ‘right’ on the working class and all that we cherish continues to knock on our door. We must not allow them to take what we have.  On this Canada Day, be proud of all that we have achieved and all that we have. I am proud to be Canadian and I will continue to fight for the institutions we have come to know and love! Happy Canada everyone!
